This class will look at the core issues of theatrical adaptation: What makes an adaptation "work"? How do you find your own unique "way in" to the work you want to adapt? What makes a story or piece of material ripe or worthy of stage adaptation? This practical workshop will explore these and other pertinent questions.

Then you need to spend 4 short Saturday mornings with Prince Gomolvilas, award winning playwright and USC playwriting faculty member, who is visiting the Bay Area from LA. In the safe confines of the class, you will discuss how to thoughtfully and fearlessly navigate taboo topics and unsettling subject matter, while generating monologues, scenes, and outlines for new plays.
